Park Pin Switch Replacement
2011 Honda CR-V EX, 2.4 RE3, MZJASECTION Park Pin Switch Replacement
NOTE:
- The park pin switch is not available from the D3 switch connector harness and the A/T gear position indicator panel light harness; replace the park pin switch, the D3 switch connector harness, A/T gear position indicator panel light harness, and the connector as a set.
- Refer to the Shift Lever Disassembly and Reassembly (see SHIFT LEVER DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY ) as needed during the following procedures.
- Do not wipe off the grease that is applied to the portion of the shift lever marked with an asterisk (*) when you disassemble or assemble it because a special grease is used.
- Remove the shift lever (see SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL ).
- Wrap the end of a flat-tip screwdriver (A) with tape, pry the shift lever knob cover locks (B), and remove the shift lever knob cover (C).
- Remove the screws (A), the shift lever button (B), and the spring (C).
- Remove the D3 switch (D) by expanding its locks (E) from the shift lever knob, and remove the shift lever knob (F).
- Remove the shift lock solenoid connector and the D3 switch/park pin switch/A/T gear position indicator panel light connector from the shift lever.
- Remove the harness wire ties, and disconnect the D3 switch 2P connector (A).
- Remove the D3 switch harness and the shift lever ring.
- Remove the A/T gear position indicator panel light socket from the indicator panel, and remove the indicator panel.
- Release the lock (A) of the shift lock release, and remove the shift lock release and the release spring (B).
- Remove the shift lever mounting bracket (A), and remove the park pin switch (B).
- Remove the A/T gear position indicator panel light harness, the park pin switch, the D3 switch connector harness, and the connector assembly, and replace it.
- Apply non-hardening thread lock sealant to the screw threads. Install a new park pin switch (A), and secure the switch with the screw.
- Install the shift lever mounting bracket.
- Install the A/T gear position indicator panel assembly, the shift lever ring, and the D3 switch harness.
- Route the D3 switch harness (A), connect the D3 switch 2P connector (B), and install the connector in the holder.
- Tie the harnesses of the D3 switch and the park pin switch at the guide (C) with the harness wire tie (D).
- Install the A/T gear position indicator panel light socket in the indicator panel assembly.
- Route the park pin switch harness, the D3 switch harness, and the A/T gear position indicator panel light harness. Take the slack out of the harnesses, and secure the harnesses (A) with the harness wire tie (B) at the guide (C).
- Install the shift lock solenoid connector and the D3 switch/park pin switch/A/T gear position indicator panel light connector on the shift lever.
- Install the shift lock release spring (A) in the shift lock release (B).
- Install the shift lock release and the release spring on the release shaft end.
- Make sure that the release spring end (A) is installed in the shift lock release (B), and the hooked end (C) is on the catch (D).
- Install the shift lever button spring (A) and the shift lever button (B) in the shift lever knob (C), and install the shift lever knob over the shift lever.
- Secure the shift lever knob with new screws (D).
- Install the D3 switch (E) and the shift lever knob cover (F) on the shift lever knob.
- Install the shift lever (see SHIFT LEVER INSTALLATION ).
