Removal Procedure
2008 Pontiac Grand Prix BaseSECTION Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (3.8L) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (3.6L) .
- Remove the drive belt from the generator. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (3.8L) in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
- Remove the generator rear brace. Refer to Generator Brace Replacement (3.8L) .
- Remove the bolts (1, 3) and the stud (2) from the generator.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the generator.
- Position aside the protective boot from the generator output BAT terminal for access.
- Remove the generator output BAT terminal nut and remove the positive battery lead from the generator.
- Remove the generator.
