  1. Position the battery negative cable to the engine.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the battery negative cable to engine bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery negative cable to engine bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the bolt (1) securing the battery negative cable to the side rail.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery negative cable to side rail bolt to 36 N.m (27 lb ft).

  6. Connect the body harness connector (3) to the battery negative cable.
  7. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (3.8L)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (3.6L) .
