- Position the gearshift lever into park. Apply the park brake. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
- Remove the end of the range selector cable from the range selector lever ball stud. Position the transmission range selector lever to Park. See Fig 1 .
- Rotate the range select lever clockwise until it reaches the full mechanical stop position. Remove the shipping tag from around the adjusting button, if necessary. See Fig 2 . Release the locking tab. See Fig 3 .
- Install the end of the range selector cable to the range selector lever ball stud. See Fig 1 . Engage the locking tab without disturbing the cable. See Fig 4 . This sets the adjustment.
- Slide the locking tab retainer over the locking tab. See Fig 2 . Lower the vehicle. Release the parking brake. Check the transmission for proper operation.
