Engine Control Module: Installation

2004 Oldsmobile Bravada AWDSECTION Installation

  1. Install the ECM. Ensure that the mounting tabs are engaged. Secure the spring latch to the ECM. Connect the ECM electrical connectors. Tighten the ECM electrical connector bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the ECM cover. If equipped with the Allison transmission, install the engine harness clip to the ECM cover. Connect the negative battery cables. Tighten negative battery terminal bolts to specification.
  3. If a NEW ECM was installed, program the ECM. See ENGINE CONTROL MODULE  under PROGRAMMING.

When to See a Mechanic
