Fuel Tank: Installation
2004 Oldsmobile Bravada AWDSECTION Installation

- Install fuel tank heat shield and fuel tank assembly into vehicle. Install fuel tank straps and tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install fuel filler pipe, EVAP vent, and fresh air hoses to fuel tank.
- Install fuel tank ground strap fastener (by fuel filter). Tighten ground strap-to-body bolt to specification. Connect EVAP canister vent and fresh air hoses to fuel tank hoses. If not equipped with all-wheel drive, go to step 4 . If equipped with all-wheel drive, install drive shaft guard and guard bolt. See Fig 2 . Tighten bolts to specification. Ensure drive shaft flange surfaces are clean from rust and debris.
- Install drive shaft. Use Threadlocker (21005994) on drive shaft flange bolt threads. Install bolts and tighten bolts to specification. Install drive shaft center support bolts. See Fig 1 . Tighten bolts to specification. Install under body guard loop and bolts. See Fig 3 . Tighten bolts to specification.
- On all applications, install rubber exhaust hangers. Lower vehicle. Fill fuel tank with gasoline. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten negative battery terminal bolt to specification. Prime fuel system. Cycle ignition on for 5 seconds, and then Off for 10 seconds. Repeat this twice. Crank engine until it starts (maximum starter motor cranking time is 20 seconds). If vehicle does not start, prime fuel system again. Check for leaks. Reset all preset radio stations and set clock to correct time.
NOTE:
Ensure load bearing spreaders are in position under drive shaft flange bolt head. Ensure index markings are aligned if reinstalling the same drive shaft.
