Fuel Fill Pipe: Installation
2004 Oldsmobile Bravada AWDSECTION Installation

- To ease installation, lightly wipe outside of fuel tank inlet connector with plain water. Position filler pipe into wheel opening with top of pipe within body panel opening. Install fuel filler pipe onto fuel tank opening. Install fuel filler pipe intermediate bracket bolt. Do not tighten at this time.
- Lower vehicle and install filler pipe to upper fuel fill pipe support bracket by moving the fuel filler neck up and to the right (toward the front of the vehicle). Tighten fuel fill pipe-to-body bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install fuel cap. Raise vehicle to comfortable working height. Ensure that the fuel pipe connecting hose is installed until it touches the fuel tank body. The hose clamp should be located within 1/4" of the end of the connecting hose. Tighten hose clamp on filler pipe-to-fuel tank connecting hose to specification. Connect fuel fill pipe vent and fresh air hoses.
- Tighten intermediate bracket bolt to specification. Install inner wheelhouse liner. Install wheel and tire. Tighten wheel lug nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Reconnect negative battery cable. Tighten negative battery terminal bolt to specification.
- Using scan tool, perform the SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTIC TEST for the EVAP emission system. This test will verify the integrity of the vapor handling areas of the fuel system.
