Fuel Pressure Regulator: Installation

NOTE: Lubricate the "O" rings with clean engine oil before installation.
  1. Install the fuel pressure regulator to the fuel rail. See Figure.
  2. Install the fuel pressure regulator retaining bolt. Tighten the retaining bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect the vacuum pipe to the fuel pressure regulator.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
  5. Check for leaks using the following procedure:
    • Turn ignition switch to RUN position for 2 seconds.
    • Turn ignition switch to OFF position for 10 seconds.
    • Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
    • Check for fuel leaks.
  6. Place the shop towel into a suitable storage container.
