DESCRIPTION:
This new Engine Control Module (ECM) Software (SW) has multiple parts.

1. Technicians performing state inspections on Short inline 6 cylinder (Si6) ULEV equipped vehicles (Engine code 95) realize that the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) readiness flag will not set. Since you can have one readiness flag set and still pass, this shouldn't pose a problem, however techs will waste time trying to find the root cause of the missing flag.

2. The function, Brake Override Accelerator (BOA), has now been added to XC90 with Si6.

3. ECM DTC P256702 was not able to set in MY 11-12 vehicles equipped with Si6 PZEV engines (Engine code 94).

PRODUCT MODIFICATION:
2012W37: The ECM SW for XC90 was implemented into production.
2012W40: The ECM SW for P3 was implemented into production.
For P3, no changes to BOA, but the new SW adds the possibility to set the DTC P256702 in the ECM on a MY11-12 P3 PZEV vehicle if there is a problem with the Premair radiator or sensor. The readiness SW applies to the Si6 ULEV engines only.

SERVICE:
If the symptom is confirmed, download an ECM Upgrade.
NOTE! This ECM SW will not remedy ECM-P256702, it will only allow it to set when necessary.
NOTE! This ECM SW will not remedy an unset HO2S readiness flag when accompanied with a HO2S-related DTC. The DTC must be fault traced according to VIDA in that case.
