SERVICE INFORMATION

1999 > All Vehicles, All Engine Codes except 2.0L AEG - ECM Replacement

If an Engine Control Module (ECM) had been replaced for any reason, it will be necessary to turn the cruise control back on. A procedure in Guided Fault Finding (GFF) can accomplish this. A manual procedure using the "Self Diagnosis" function can also be used if a "G" is located after the part number or before the software level.

Follow the steps listed below if using the "Self Diagnosis" function:

  1. Select vehicle system "01-Engine electronics".
  2. Select "Access authorization/permission" then click on "Coding II".
  3. To activate the cruise control, enter code 00003 for 1999 vehicles, 11463 for all other vehicles and, if needed, 16167 to turn the cruise control off  .
