Relay Carrier on Vehicle Electrical System Control Module J519
Follow the procedure in the repair information when disconnecting and connecting the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Service and Repair.
• Vehicle Electrical System Control Module and relay carrier on Vehicle Electrical System Control Module are one component and cannot be replaced separately.
• If the Vehicle Electrical System Control Module or relay carrier is to be replaced, the work procedure => [ Coding ] Coding to read out the codes stored in the module must always be performed.
Removing
- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and move the ignition key or start button into the 0 position (preliminary engaged position).
- Remove the cover in the footwell on the driver side.
- Slide securing latch - 1 - of harness connector of relay carrier on Vehicle Electrical System Control Module in - direction of arrow -.
• Harness connectors for relay carrier on Vehicle Electrical System Control Module can only be pulled off when the securing latch has been set to the "OPEN" position beforehand.
• The number of harness connectors and therefore relays is dependent on vehicle equipment.
• All harness connectors are only to be connected in one location and must therefore not be marked.
- Disengage harness connectors - 2 - and disconnect them.
- Slide securing latch - 1 - of harness connectors of Vehicle Electrical System Control Module in - direction of arrow -.
• Harness connectors of Vehicle Electrical System Control Module can only be pulled off when the securing latch has been set to the "OPEN" position beforehand.
• The number of harness connectors on Vehicle Electrical System Control Module is dependent on vehicle equipment.
• All harness connectors are only to be connected in one location and must therefore not be marked.
- Disengage harness connectors - 2 - and disconnect them.
- Clip Vehicle Electrical System Control Module and relay carrier at vehicle electrical system control module out of locking devices - arrows C -.
- Pull Vehicle Electrical System Control Module and relay carrier at vehicle electrical system control module downward and out of bracket in opposite direction of travel.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• Connector lock can only be brought into position "CLOSE" when all connectors are correctly connected.
