Fastener Tightening Specifications
• 1 Always replace
• 2 Tighten the bolts working from the inside toward the outside in several stages
Cylinder Head Cover Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification
- Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown to 10 Nm.
Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification
- Always replace the cylinder head bolts
- Install the cylinder head bolts and tighten them hand tight.
- Tighten the cylinder head bolts - 1 through 12 - in the sequence shown as follows:
- Then tighten bolts - 13 - to 10 Nm.
Cylinder Head Distortion Inspection
- Check the cylinder head at multiple points for distortion, using a straight edge and feeler gauges
- Maximum permissible distortion 0.05 mm
- If this value is exceeded, the cylinder head must be replaced. It is not permissible to rework the sealing surface
Camshaft Guide Frame Bolts
Always replace bolts
First step Tighten from inside to outside in several stages
Second step 8 Nm in sequence
Third step Tighten an additional 90° (1/4) turn in sequence
