Control Module Version, Checking (Function 01)

Check Control Module Version


- Connecting Scan Tool.
- Initiating On Board Diagnostic (OBD).

- Switch on ignition.
- Press key -1- for "Rapid Data Transfer" mode.
- Switch on printer with Print button (warning lamp in button lights up).
- Press keys -0- and -1-.

- Confirm with -Q- key.

The control module identification of the convenience central control module (Conv. cent. CU) will be shown on the VAG 1551 Scan Tool display, e.g.:


1J0959799J 03 Conv. cent. CU 0001->
Coding XXXXX WSC XXXXX


Breakdown of the display:

- Top line Part No. of control module system designation (03 (2) Conv. cent. CU 0001)
- Lower line Code number Dealership number (1)

1) Will be automatically stored in the control module when entering the system.
2) A number or number/letter combination (03 or 6Q or others) indicate correct programming of control module.


- Press -> key.

- If one of the malfunction messages opposite appears in the display, the possible causes of the malfunction can be printed out with the HELP key.

- Ignition must be switched on.

K wire is not switching to positive!


- Malfunctions have occurred at the start of or during the program (external interference?).

No signal from control module!


- Check diagnostic cable as well as voltage supply and Ground connection.

Rapid data transfer ->
Fault in communication build up


- Press keys -0- and -6- to end the output.
