Rear Alignment

2003 Volkswagen Eurovan V6-2.8L (AXK)SECTION Rear Alignment

Rear Axle, Adjusting Toe
- Loosen nut -a- on control arm.
- Move control arm forward or back until specification is achieved (vehicle weight on its wheels).

NOTE: If toe setting at rear wheels needs adjusting and if equipped, also check brake pressure regulator setting, adjust as needed, refer to Brakes and Traction Control.

Direction Of Travel, Calculating
- If both toe figures have the same preceding sign (+/+ or -/-), subtract smaller figure from larger figure and divide by 2.

Example:

Left rear wheel Toe Right rear wheel Toe
+15' +5'

15' minus 5' equals 10'
10' divided by 2 equals 5'

Direction of travel, deviation equals 5'

- Add figures with different prefix (+/-), divide by 2.

Example:

Left rear wheel Toe Right rear wheel Toe
+15' -5'

15' plus 5' equals 20'
20' divided by 2 equals 10'

Direction of travel, deviation equals 10'

- Individual result is alignment deviation from vehicle longitudinal axis.
