Component Locations, Overview
1 - Air cleaner housing
2 - Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor -G70- * with Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor (G42)*
3 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) -G39- bank 1 before Three Way Catalytic (TWC) Converter, 50 Nm
- Installation location: in exhaust pipe in front
- Only use "G 052 112 A3" to grease thread; do not let "G052 112 A3" get onto slit of oxygen sensor
- Use 3337 to remove and install
- With 6-pin connector
- Voltage is supplied to oxygen sensor heater through Fuel Pump (FP) relay (J17)
4 - Oxygen Sensor (O2S) behind Three Way Catalytic (TWC) Converter -G130-, bank 1, 50 Nm
- Installation location: In rear Three Way Catalytic (TWC) Converter
- Only use "G052 112 A3" to grease thread; do not let "G 052 112 A3" get onto slit of oxygen sensor
- Use 3337 to remove and install
- With 4-pin connector
- Voltage is supplied to oxygen sensor heater through Fuel Rump (FP) relay (J17)
5 - Vacuum reservoir
- For intake manifold switch-over valve and Secondary Air Injection (AIR) valve
6 - Throttle Valve Control Module -J338-
- Heated by coolant
7 - Knock Sensor (KS) 1 -G61-
- Installation location: Cylinder block, exhaust side
8 - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge regulator valve -N80-
9 - Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor -G40-
- For intake camshaft
10 - Valve -1- for camshaft adjustment -N205-
- For intake camshaft
11 - Valve -2- for camshaft adjustment -N208-
- for exhaust camshaft
12 - Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor -G163-
- for exhaust camshaft
13 - Protective housing
- For additional fuses
14 - Connector
- for Engine Control Module (ECM)
- Always switch ignition off before disconnecting or connecting connector
- disengage to pull off
15 - Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM)*
(control module for Motronic -J220-)
- Installation location: At left in engine compartment
- When replacing, perform basic setting
16 - Engine - Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor -G62-
- Blue
- With Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor (G2)
- If necessary, release pressure in cooling system before removing
17 - Engine Speed (RPM) sensor -G28-
18 - Knock Sensor (KS) 2 -G66-
- Installation location: Cylinder block, intake side
19 - Secondary Air Injection (AIR) solenoid valve -N112-
20 - Secondary Air Injection (AIR) pump motor -V101-
21 - Fuel injector -N30-, -N31-, -N32-, -N33-, -N83-, -N84-
22 - Intake manifold change-over valve -N156-
- Mark connector before removing (danger of mix-up)
23 - Vacuum setting element
- For intake manifold change-over
24 - Ignition coil with power output stage (-N70-, -N127-, -N291-, -N292-, -N323- and -N324-)
- Use T10094 removal tool to remove
25 - Intake hose
