For m.y. 2000, vehicles may come equipped with the following radio / sound system configurations:
Note:
Radio's with and without Monsoon Sound System do not require a different version CD-Changer or CD-Player.
The radio must be coded correctly. A radio which is not coded correctly will exhibit sound quality problems!

Premium IV Radio
^ Can be identified by the "BASS" and "FAD buttons -1- to the left of the volume control knob -2-
^ Vehicles with this radio will not be equipped with the Monsoon Sound System
^ Must be coded according to existing information in the applicable Repair Manual

Premium V Radio
^ May be installed on vehicles with or without Monsoon Sound System
^ Can readily be identified by the "MID" button -3- (mid range) to the left of the volume control knob -4- and the "F/B" button -5- (fader/balance) to the right as shown
^ When programmed as Monsoon, after switching radio ON, "Monsoon" will momentarily appear in radio display
- Press the F/B button -5- once, - "FADE" will appear in radio display.
- Press F/B button twice, - "BAL" will appear in radio display.
Monsoon Sound System
Can be identified by the Monsoon amplifier located in the vehicle luggage compartment:
^ Only installed on vehicles equipped with Premium V radios

^ Behind left rear wheelhouse cover (Passat Wagon, Golf -arrow- is shown)

^ Under rear parcel shelf (Passat Sedan, Jetta -arrow-)
Radio, Coding
Using the VAG 1551 Scan tool or VAS 5051 tester:
- Access "Radio" with address word 56 and advance program using -Q- button to code Control Module.

- Press --> button.

Indicated on display
- Press buttons -0- and -7- to select "Code Control Module" function 07 and press -Q- button to confirm input.

Indicated on display

- Input code number according to table shown.

- Indicated on display (02043 shows coding for Jetta with Premium V radio (with Monsoon Sound System and CD-Changer installed).
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.
