WARNING!
- Check wiring via visual inspection only.
- Do not check continuity or resistance of the airbag igniter circuits.
- Only check wiring with the ignition switched off!
- As a safety measure during the airbag On Board Diagnostic (OBD), always end the OBD after checks and repairs are completed. Restart the OBD again if necessary.



- Connect scan tool. Connecting VAG 1551 Scan Tool
- Switch on printer with Print button (warning lamp in button lights up).
- Switch ignition on

Indicated on display:

Rapid data transfer HELP
Enter address word XX


- Press buttons -1- and -5- to select "Airbag" address word 15.

- Confirm entry with Q button.

NOTE: If one of the following malfunction types appear in the display, the possible causes of the malfunction can be printed out by pressing the "HELP" button.

If the messages below displays, the ignition must be switched on.

K wire not switching to positive!


If the message below displays, faults have occurred at the start of or during the program (external interference?).

No signal from control module!


If the message below displays, check diagnostic wires as well as voltage supply and ground connection.

Fault in communication build up


- After correcting possible fault causes, once again enter address word 15 for "Airbag" and confirm with -Q- button.
