Convenience System Control Unit, Coding Using Scan Tool VAG1551


NOTE:
- When supplied the control unit is precoded according to the vehicle equipment.
- The coding is performed with the scan tool VAG 1551.


- Connecting scan tool, initiating On Board Diagnostic (OBD).

The control unit identification number will be displayed with the appropriate index letter, the code number and the workshop code.

If the contents of the display are as shown then the coding is successful.

If the code number entered is not accepted by the control unit, the previous coding will appear in the display:

In this case the control unit has not been programmed with the relevant data for the vehicle. A check must then be completed to see if the correct control unit for the vehicle has been installed (compare Part No. and letter index), or whether an incorrect code number has been entered.

- Repeat coding.

If the control unit cannot be coded (correct control unit, correct code number), the control unit is malfunctioning.

Furthermore, at this point the door control unit is called-up and checked.
