This bulletin contains a revised procedure for creating the Readiness Code. This information supercedes the procedure found in your current Repair Manual and will be integrated during the next Repair Manual update.

Note:
Work Steps 5 (Leakdown Detection pump checking) and 7 (Secondary Air Injection) do NOT apply to current production vehicles for model year 1996.








To display Readiness Codes the VAG 1551 Scan Tool must meet the following requirements:

^ Must have a 5.0 (or higher) Program Card installed

^ Must be properly encoded with the Workshop Code

When to See a Mechanic
