Cylinder Identification Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Ignition Reference Sensor:





1. With the ignition "OFF", disconnect the ignition reference sensor harness connector.
2. Connect a suitable volt/ohm meter between terminals 1 and 2 of the ignition reference sensor.

Measure the resistance between terminal 1 and 2.

^ The correct measurement should be less than 2 ohms.

3. Measure the resistance between terminal 1 and ground.
4. Measure the resistance between terminal 2 and ground.

^ The correct measurement should be infinite ohms.


5. If the correct measurements are not obtained the sensor is defective. Replace the reference sensor
