On-Vehicle Inspection [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

2025 Toyota Highlander XLE, 4WDSECTION Procedure
  1. INSPECT NO. 2 TURBO PRESSURE SENSOR 
    1. Check the terminal voltage.
      1. Disconnect the No. 2 turbo pressure sensor connector.
      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        C76-3 (VC) - C76-2 (E2) Ignition switch ON 4.5 to 5.5 V
        C76-1 (PTA) - C76-2 (E2) 3.0 to 5.5 V

        If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

    2. Check the turbo pressure.
      1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
      2. According to the display on the GTS read the Data List.

        Powertrain > Engine > Data List 

        Tester Display
        Boost Pressure Sensor

        OK

        The value is approximately equal to atmospheric pressure.

        HINT: 

        • Standard atmospheric pressure is approximately 101 kPa (abs) (15 psi (abs)).
        • For every 100 m (328 ft) increase in altitude, atmospheric pressure drops by approximately 1 kPa (0.15 psi). This varies by weather.
