Cruise Control: Description and Operation

1990 Subaru XT-6 4WD L6-2.7L SOHCSECTION Description and Operation
The speed control system automatically controls vehicle speed without depressing the accelerator pedal. To achieve this, the speed sensor in the speedometer sends a feedback signal which is compared with the desired speed set in the micro-computer memory. The difference between the sensor and memory speeds is transmitted to the solenoid valves which moves the actuator controlling the throttle and keeps the rate of speed constant.
