2002 Saturn SL1 L4-1.9L SOHC VIN 8SECTION Input Shaft Clearance Measurement




1. Assemble input shaft with 5th gear bearing, 5th gear, 5th reverse synchronizer assembly, reverse cone, and washer. Use old nut and torque.
Torque:
Input Shaft Clamp Nut: 150 Nm (111 ft. lbs.)
2. Measure clearance between 5th drive gear and 5th gear thrust washer.
Clearance between 5th drive gear and 5th gear thrust washer Standard: 0.20 - 0.35 mm (0.008 - 0.014 inch)





3. Measure clearance between 4th drive gear and 4th gear thrust washer.
Clearance between 4th drive gear and 4th gear thrust washer Standard: 0.20 - 0.35 mm (0.008 - 0.014 inch)
4. Measure clearance between 3rd drive gear and input shaft
Clearance between 3rd drive gear and input shaft Standard: 0.20 - 0.35 mm (0.008 - 0.014 inch)
