2002 Saturn SL1 L4-1.9L SOHC VIN 8SECTION Visual Inspection
^ Inspect battery for cracks in case or cover.
^ Inspect terminals and cable ends for corrosion.
^ Verify terminal bolt torque.

Torque:
Battery Terminal Bolts: 17 N.m (13 ft-lbs)

^ Repair cross threaded terminals.

NOTE: Do not use a tap to remove excess material from lug terminal(s). Battery damage may result.

1. Clean out excess material in threads using a small pick.
2. Thread a new bolt in by hand and hand tighten.
3. Torque bolt.

Torque:
Battery Terminal Bolts: 17 N.m (13 ft-lbs)
