KNOCK SENSOR

REMOVAL




1. Ignition Off.
2. Disconnect knock sensor harness connector.
3. Remove knock sensor connector from retaining clip by inserting a flat-blade screwdriver between the connector and clip.
4. Slide knock sensor connector toward battery to remove from clip.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE IS CENTERED AND PROPERLY POSITIONED PRIOR TO LIFTING.

5. Raise vehicle.
6. Remove knock sensor attachment bolt and knock sensor.

INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: The larger metal contact area of the knock sensor MUST be toward the engine block. DTC P0327 may result if the sensor is installed backwards.




1. Install knock sensor and attachment bolt with larger metal contact area toward engine block.

Torque:
Knock Sensor-to-Engine Bolt: 25 N.m (19 ft-lbs)


2. Lower vehicle.

NOTE: If the new knock sensor connector retaining clip is going to be used, the old one must be removed from the bracket. Use diagonal cutters to remove.

3. Insert knock sensor retaining clip into bracket.
4. Connect knock sensor harness connector. Push in connector until a click is heard and pull back to confirm a positive engagement.
