Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair
1998 Saturn SL2 L4-1.9L DOHC VIN 7SECTION Service and Repair
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED PRIOR TO LIFTING.
REMOVAL
1. Position vehicle on lift and raise vehicle.
2. Disconnect electrical connector from Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).
3. Remove VSS.
INSTALLATION
NOTE:
^ Clean and lubricate fastener with Saturn Transaxle Fluid (or equivalent).
^ Inspect O-ring for damage. Replace if necessary.
1. Install vehicle speed sensor.
Torque: 26 NM (19 ft. lbs)
2. Connect electrical connector to speed sensor. Push until a click is heard and pull back to confirm positive engagement.
3. Lower vehicle.
4. Check transaxle fluid level.
