Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair
1996 Saturn SC2 L4-1.9L DOHC VIN 7SECTION Service and Repair
1. Lift parking brake lever and place shift lever in Neutral position, then remove ash tray and cup holder from center console.
2. Disengage ash tray light bulb socket and position aside, then remove wiring harness from cup holder.
3. Slide window and mirror electrical switch forward and lift at rear edge, then disconnect electrical connector and remove switch.
4. Remove console rear screw cover and screws, then the console arm rest.
5. Remove left and right lower trim panel extensions and front console screws, then move console rearward and disconnect cigarette lighter electrical connectors.
6. Lift console out of position, then remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) and disconnect SDM electrical connector.
7. Remove SDM mounting bolts, then remove module from vehicle.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten SDM mounting bolts to Specifications. Specifications
