The rod and adjuster assembly are not repairable and must be replaced as an assembly. Do not remove rod and adjuster from cruise control module.
1. Disconnect air intake tube at throttle body; then, while observing throttle plate position, depress adjuster release tab and slide adjuster away from bracket, Fig. 4.
2. With throttle plate closed, cruise control rod should have .040-.079 inch freeplay. If not as specified, replace rod and adjuster assembly.
