Action To Take Before Changing A Control Module

Experience has shown that most of the control modules that are returned in connection with warranty claims are faultless. In these cases the change of the control module has not solved the problem. Please proceed with the following procedure before changing the control module:







1 Check all grounding points and the power supply to the control module.
2 Use the diagnostic tool to check that the test values are feasible (several test values can influence a function)
3 Check using the diagnostic tool that all activations are functioning (a fault in the output circuit can effect another output circuit).







4 If the fault persists, the control module must be replaced.
5 When handling a control module it is important to firstly ground yourself, by touching the car engine for instance.
