2008 Pontiac Grand Prix BaseSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the CKP sensor.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the CKP sensor studs.

    Tighten:  Tighten the studs to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

  5. Install the CKP sensor shield (1).
  6. Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
  7. Install the crankshaft harmonic balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (L26) in Engine Electrical.
  10. Perform the crankshaft position system variation learn procedure. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn .
