2008 Pontiac Grand Prix BaseSECTION Installation Procedure

CAUTION: Do not use or attempt to repair a damaged cooling fan assembly. Replace damaged fans with new assemblies. An unbalanced cooling fan could fly apart causing personal injury and property damage.

  1. Install the fan clutch to the fan blade.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the bolts to the fan clutch.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).

  5. Install the fan blade to the vehicle.

  7. Install J 46406  to the fan clutch. See Special Tools .

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 59 N.m (44 lb ft).

  8. Install the fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .
