2008 Pontiac Grand Prix BaseSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (L26)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LY7)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LS4) .
  2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory .
  4. Disconnect the generator electrical connector (2).
  5. Position aside the protective boot (1) from the generator output BAT terminal for access.
  6. Remove the generator output BAT terminal nut (4) and remove the positive battery lead (3) from the generator.

  8. Remove the generator bolts and generator.
