2008 Pontiac Grand Prix BaseSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Position the negative battery cable (2) into the vehicle.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Connect the cable to the transaxle housing. Secure with the ground bolt (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the ground bolt to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).

  4. Connect the cable to the body. Secure with the ground bolt (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the body ground bolt to 14 N.m (124 lb in).

  5. Route the cable and secure it in the harness retainer.
  6. Install the battery tray.
  7. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
