2008 Pontiac Grand Prix BaseSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the battery insulator, if necessary.
  2. Install the battery.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the battery hold down retainer and bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery hold down retainer bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Connect the positive battery cable.

    Tighten:  Tighten the positive battery cable bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  6. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
