2 Arm the content theft system. Refer to Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Description and Operation .
Does the security indicator LED illuminate?
Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections Go to Step 3

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector containing the LED control circuit.
  3. With a fused jumper wire and appropriate terminal adapter, apply 12 volts to the security indicator control circuit.
Does the security indicator LED illuminate?
Go to Step 6  Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the security indicator LED.
  2. Probe the ground side of the security indicator control circuit with a test lamp connected to B+.
Does the test lamp light?
Go to Step 5  Go to Step 8 
5 Test the security indicator LED control circuit for an open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 11  Go to Step 7 
6 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 11  Go to Step 9 
7 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the security indicator LED. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 11  Go to Step 10 
8 Repair the open in the security indicator control ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs .
Did you complete the repair?
Go to Step 11  -
9 Replace the BCM. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 11  -
10 Replace the security indicator LED. Refer to LED Indicator Replacement - Vehicle Security System .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 11  -
11 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?
