Body Verification Test

- Reconnect all previously disconnected components and wiring.
- If Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) was replaced, go to step 11. If SKIM was not replaced, go to next step.
- If Body Control Module (BCM) was replaced, ignition must be turned on for 15 seconds to learn VIN or engine will not start. Us scan tool to program all RKE transmitters.
- Using scan tool, recalibrate HVAC doors.
- If vehicle is equipped with Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS), use scan tool to select MISCELLANEOUS and ENABLE VTSS.
- If any repairs were made to HVAC system or battery was disconnected, use scan tool to recalibrate HVAC doors.
- Turn ignition on and use scan tool to erase all DTCs.
- Turn ignition off and wait 5 seconds
- Turn ignition on and operate previously malfunctioning component or system. If component or system operates properly, go to next step. If component or system is not operating properly, repair as necessary. See appropriate diagnostic and repair procedure for malfunctioning component or system under SYSTEM TESTS .
- Using scan tool, read BCM DTCs. If no DTC are set and complaint cannot be duplicated, testing is complete. If any DTCs are set, go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Obtain vehicle's unique PIN number assigned for SKIM module.
- Using scan tool, select THEFT ALARM, SKIM, MISCELLANEOUS. Select SKIM MODULE REPLACED. Follow on-screen instructions.
- Enter secured access mode using 4-digit PIN number.
- Program vehicle VIN into SKIM memory.
- Program country code (US) into SKIM memory.
- SKIM module must be in secured access mode. Transfer vehicle's unique Secret Key Data from Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to SKIM.
- Once secured access mode is activated, SKIM will remain in secured access mode for 60 seconds.
- SKIM module must be in secured access mode. Program all customer's ignition keys into SKIM module. SKIM will exit secured access mode after each key is programmed.NOTE: Secured access mode is not required to check programmed status of key.
