Throttle Full Close Switch: Adjustments

Closed Throttle Position Switch:






Caution: The Closed Throttle Position Switch should not be adjusted. Precise adjustments and setting were performed by the manufacturer. If the adjustment has been altered, readjust as follows.

1. Loosen the accelerator cable.
2. Loosen the Closed Throttle Position Switch locknut.
3. Loosen the Closed Throttle Position Switch until the throttle valve is fully seated in the closed position.
4. Connect an ohmmeter between the Closed Throttle Position Switch connector and ground.
5. Tighten the Closed Throttle Position Switch until the switch contacts close (the ohmmeter shows continuity).
6. Turn the Closed Throttle Position Switch 15/16 turn further (clockwise).
7. While holding the switch so it doesn't move, tighten the lock nut securely.
8. Readjust the accelerator cable tension.
9. Recheck the CURB idle speed and Throttle position sensor adjustment.
