1989 Plymouth Reliant L4-135 2.2L SOHCSECTION Service Procedure
Replace the Powertrain Control Module (PCM):

1. Remove air cleaner duct from PCM.

2. Disconnect battery cables. Remove battery.

Note:
To ensure customer satisfaction, remember to record all radio settings before disconnecting the battery and to reset the electronic memory when you have completed the service procedure.

3. Disconnect the PCM 14- and 60-way electrical connectors.

4. Remove and save the two PCM attaching screws. Remove the PCM and set aside for return to the Warranty Material Return Center.

5. Connect the 14- and 60-way electrical connectors to the new PCM.

6. Install the PCM and tighten the attaching screws securely.

7. Reinstall the battery and connect the battery cables securely.

8. Install the air cleaner duct to the PCM.
