CAUTION:
Misadjusted shift linkage could cause transaxle clutch and/or band failure.
- Remove center console. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEMS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
- Place the gearshift lever in the NEUTRAL position. Place the transaxle in NEUTRAL by rotating the selector shaft clockwise from PARK through REVERSE to NEUTRAL.
- Pull the cable locking clip fully upward at the floor shift control. See Figure.
- Push the on the cable adjuster in order to adjust cable in the cable mounting bracket. Install center console.
