Fuel Sender Assembly: Removal

2004 Oldsmobile Bravada RWDSECTION Removal

  1. Fuel pump is located in fuel tank and is integral with fuel sender assembly. Remove fuel tank. See FUEL TANK  .
  2. Using compressed air, clean area at top of fuel tank around any fittings to be disconnected. Disconnect EVAP and fuel lines at fuel sender assembly. See FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGS  . Disconnect electrical connections at fuel sender assembly.
  3. Remove fuel sender assembly retaining ring using Retaining Ring Remover/Installer (J-39765). Lift fuel sender assembly from fuel tank. See Figure . Drain any fuel from the fuel sender assembly into an approved container. Remove and discard fuel sender assembly "O" ring.
