Installation Procedure

2004 Oldsmobile Bravada RWDSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Position the fender to vehicle.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  2. Install the rear lower fender bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the rear lower fender bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the fender to radiator support bolts and retainer.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the radiator support bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Connect the left front grille clip to the fender.

  5. Install the fender to door hinge bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the door hinge bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the fender to upper cowl bracket bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the upper cowl bracket bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the push-in retainers (2) in order to attach the wheelhouse panel (1) to the fender (3).
  8. Install the underhood electrical center. Refer to UNDERHOOD ELECTRICAL CENTER OR JUNCTION BLOCK REPLACEMENT .

  9. Connect the windshield washer hose to the clips on the fender.

  10. Connect the hood latch release cable to the clips.
  11. Install the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY TRAY REPLACEMENT .

  12. Install the wheelhouse panel bracket.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the wheelhouse bracket nuts and bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  13. Install the left fender to cowl support brace.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the cowl support brace bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  14. Install the left hood spring assembly.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the hood spring bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  15. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement   .

  16. Install the left outboard cowl vent grille trim piece.
  17. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE (SINGLE BATTERY) or BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE (AUXILIARY BATTERY) .
