Installation Procedure
- Install the front pipe to the vehicle.
- Install the front pipe to the front pipe hanger (2).
- Install the following components to the front pipe to the Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) exhaust pipe:
- The 2 springs
- The 2 bolts
Tighten: Tighten the front pipe-to-Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) exhaust pipe bolts to 43 N.m (32 lb ft).
- Install the following components to the exhaust manifold:
- The 2 springs
- The 2 bolts
Tighten: Tighten the front pipe-to-exhaust manifold bolts to 43 N.m (32 lb ft).
- Install the floor panel brace.
Tighten: Tighten the front pipe floor brace nuts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
- Install the oxygen sensors. Refer to the following procedures:
- Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Position 1 (FWD) or Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Position 1 (AWD) in Engine Contols-1.8L (LV6)
- , Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Position 1 in Engine Contols-1.8L (LV6)
- Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Position 2 (FWD) or Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Position 2 (AWD) in Engine Controls-1.8(LNK)
- Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Position 2 in Engine Controls-1.8(LNK)
- Lower the vehicle.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
