The engine side dash mat is made of a flexible thermoplastic rubber. Pull away or remove the mat for the following service procedures:

  • In order to service the mat.
  • In order to make any repair behind the mat.

In many cases, you may pull the mat away in one area in order to make a repair behind the mat. If you need to cut the mat in order to perform a procedure, repair the cut with the following procedure:

  1. Lightly sand the surface surrounding the cut.
  2. Apply contact cement between the cut surface and the surrounding area.
  3. Allow the cement to cure before you stress the repaired area.

When to See a Mechanic
