Installation Procedure

2004 Oldsmobile Bravada RWDSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the water pump gasket.
  2. Install the water pump.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  3. Install the water pump bolts.

    Tighten 

    • Tighten the long water pump bolts to 34 N.m (25 Ib ft).
    • Tighten the short water pump bolts to 22 N.m (16 Ib ft).

  4. Install the water pump pulley.
  5. Install the water pump pulley bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the water pump pulley bolts to 13 N.m (115 Ib in).

  6. Install the power steering pump and the power steering bolts. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACEMENT (3.8L) or POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACEMENT (3.1 L) .
  7. Install the drive belt. Refer to DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT (L36) or DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT (L67) .
  8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System .
  9. Inspect for leaks.
