Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Driver Window Operation
When the ignition switch is in the RUN position and the driver window switch is pressed to the down position, voltage is applied to the window motor down control circuit causing the driver window to open. When the driver window switch is pressed to the up position, voltage is applied to the window motor up control circuit and the driver window closes. The return path to ground is supplied through the inactive control circuit being normally grounded through the driver window switch.
The driver window switch also controls the passenger windows. Refer to passenger window switch operation below for details on how these windows operate.
