Engine Flywheel (Unit Repair) Removal: Removal

2004 Oldsmobile Bravada AWDSECTION Removal

IMPORTANT:  It is not necessary to orientate the flywheel to the crankshaft. It is balanced separately from the engine.

  1. Remove flywheel attaching bolts. Use Flywheel Holding Tool J43653 to prevent crankshaft rotation.
  2. Remove flywheel, if vehicle is equipped with a manual transaxle.

  3. Remove flywheel retainer and flywheel for vehicles equipped with automatic transaxle.
  4. Clean thread adhesive from flywheel bolts. Use a-nylon bristle brush to clean bolt holes in crankshaft.
