Intake Manifold (Unit Repair): Installation

2004 Oldsmobile Bravada AWDSECTION Installation

  1. Install intake manifold studs in cylinder head.

    Torque: 

    Intake Manifold-to-Cylinder Head Studs: 6 N.m (60 in-lbs)

  2. Install a new intake manifold gasket onto intake manifold (if necessary).
  3. Install intake manifold.
  4. Install intake manifold bolts and nuts. Tighten by starting from center bolt and working outward.

    Torque: 

    Intake Manifold-to-Cylinder Head Bolts: 10 N.m (89 in-lbs) 

    Torque: 

    Intake Manifold-to-Cylinder Head Nuts: 10 N.m (89 in-lbs)

  5. Install fuel rail assembly.
  6. Install fuel rail stud.

    Torque: 

    Fuel Rail Bracket Stud: 10 N.m (89 in-lbs)

  7. Install new throttle body studs (if equipped).

    Torque: 

    Throttle Body Studs-to-Cylinder Head: 6 N.m (60 in-lbs)

  8. Install throttle body, gasket may be reused if not damaged.

    Torque: 

    Throttle Body Nuts: 10 N.m (89 in-lbs) 

  9. Install knock sensor connector onto intake manifold.
