2004 Oldsmobile Bravada AWDSECTION Removal (3.0L)

  1. Turn OFF the ignition. Loosen battery cover screws and remove battery cover. Disconnect negative battery cable, then disconnect positive battery cable. Loosen battery hold-down bolt and remove battery and battery hold-down. Do not tip battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill.
  2. Remove Underhood Fuse Block (UHFB) cover. See Figure . Remove positive battery cable and Electric Power Steering (EPS) wire from B+ terminal at UHFB. Open all retainer clips and remove all cables, lines and harnesses from battery cooling box.
  3. Loosen UHFB block connector retaining bolts. Unfasten UHFB from its housing and disconnect forward lamp harness. Remove battery cooling box bolts. Pull inlet duct away from battery cooling box. Rotate UHFB out of way and remove battery cooling box. Disconnect ECM J1 and J2 harness connectors. See Figure . Remove ECM attachment bolts and remove ECM.
