Fuel Sender Assembly: Installation

NOTE: Fuel pump strainer must be in a horizontal position when installing fuel tank sender assembly into fuel tank. Ensure fuel pump strainer does not block the travel of the fuel sensing assembly float arm.
  1. Clean fuel sending assembly sealing area. Install NEW fuel sending assembly "O" ring onto the fuel tank opening. Lower fuel tank sending assembly into fuel tank. See Fig 1 . Install fuel sending assembly retaining ring using Retaining Ring Remover/Installer (J-39765).
  2. Reconnect EVAP and fuel lines at fuel sending assembly. Reconnect electrical connections at fuel sending assembly. Reinstall fuel tank. See FUEL TANK  . Check for fuel leaks.
