Fuel Sender Assembly (With Feedback Fuel System): Installation
2004 Oldsmobile Bravada AWDSECTION Installation

- Inspect the jet line insert for damage and replace if necessary. Install the jet line insert through the crossover tube to fuel tank opening. Install a new fuel pump sender "O" ring to the fuel tank opening. Place tape around the jet line with the connector. This will permit line access once the pump sender is inserted into the fuel tank.
- Install the pump sender into the fuel tank half way, taking care not to damage the float arm. Using the tape as a guide, gently pull the jet line up through the fuel pump sender opening. Place the jet line with no connector in the sender retainer cup. Secure the line into the sender retaining clip. Remove the tape from the jet line with a connector. Pull on each connector to ensure that the connectors are properly latched.
- Connect the jet line quick-connect connectors to the fuel pump sender inner port. Compress and align the fuel pump sender into the fuel tank, while taking care not to damage the float arm. See Fig 1. Install the fuel pump sender lock ring. Using the fuel sender lock ring tool, fully lock the fuel pump sender lock ring in place. Connect the fuel supply line into the weld clip on the side of the fuel tank.
- Using an ohmmeter, verify the full and empty resistance readings of the fuel pump sender. Empty tank reading is 40 ohms resistance. Turn the fuel tank upside down to achieve the full tank reading. Full tank reading is 250 ohms resistance.
- Pull the jet line insert connector to ensure that the insert is properly attached. Connect the jet line insert connector into the crossover tube to fuel tank opening. Connect the fuel pump jumper harness to the fuel pump sender. Install the left fuel tank See FUEL TANKS (WITH FEEDBACK FUEL SYSTEM) .
- Inspect the jet line insert for damage and replace if necessary. Install the jet line insert through the crossover tube to fuel tank opening. Install a new fuel pump sender "O" ring to the fuel tank opening.
- Pull the jet line quick-connectors up through the pump sender opening, connecting the lines to the pump sender as previously noted. Install the pump sender into the fuel tank, taking care not to damage the float arm.
- Compress and align the fuel pump sender, while installing the lock ring. Using the fuel sender lock ring tool, fully lock the fuel pump sender lock ring in place.
- Using an ohmmeter, verify the full and empty resistance readings of the fuel pump sender. Empty tank reading is 40 ohms resistance. Turn the fuel tank upside down to achieve the full tank reading. Full tank reading is 250 ohms resistance.
- Pull the jet line insert connector to ensure that the insert is properly attached. Connect the jet line insert connector into the crossover tube to fuel tank opening. If replacing the fuel pump sender, install the FTP sensor. Lubricate the fuel tank pressure sensor rubber grommet with clean engine oil in order to aid in installation. Install the fuel tank pressure sensor into the top of the fuel tank. Connect the FTP sensor harness connector. Connect the fuel pump sender harness connector. Connect the EVAP purge line from the fuel pump sender. Install the right fuel tank. See FUEL TANKS (WITH FEEDBACK FUEL SYSTEM) .
